![]() Pinterest is a very good option for reference hunting too! But don’t copy anything you see there, it’s a douche move! You can be inspired by the art and photography you see there and reference some things. ![]() If you want some 2D pose references, it’s good too! I make use of both and human stocks are better for 3D artists. A quick stock search on DeviantArt, or even Google, will get you many results. How do you counter bad posing? By using references! Using references doesn’t make you a worse artist and it’s completely acceptable to do so! If you’re unsure about your pose, check a reference! There are many profiles on DeviantArt which post stock images of a variety of poses for artists, like AdorkaStock (formely SenshiStock), JookpubStock and Null-Entity. Please, don’t leave everything in the model clipping like hell, don’t close your eyes and hit render.Įxample of bad posing it feels very mechanical, unnatural, stiff. Your lighting can be flawless, but a bad pose will make everything look amateurish. Ok, enough babbling, let’s get started on the tutorial itself! First of all, let’s talk about the most important detail in renders: the pose. If you look at my portfolio, you would’nt guess it’s by a MMDer at first, only after reading the “about me” section. The most rewarding thing? To read someone comment they want to learn 3D art because of my renders and see me as an inspiration to them! Even better when they’re willing to learn MMD nowadays! They only say so because I bring quality to life, I make MMD look as respectable as other 3D rendering softwares. Now a brief Lírio background: I currently own a portfolio with over 300 finished works and have a small, but loyal following on my social media (especially Twitter). To make you feel better, underrated artists are as awesome as the huge one s if your skills speak for themselves. They only grow this big because they shift to Blender. Understand that an average MMD user like you and me will never be huge like the digital artists we see on Twitter. It’s on us to be the change and earn our little spot there. 3D is still seen as only useful for NSFW, SFM memes by many people… And they expect amateur rendering. I’m not saying that your renders are shit however, here’s the catch: you have to improve your rendering quality in order to have a respectable (good) place in the digital art community. Rad, right? But the moment you join it, few people take you seriously… The reason? You’re still rendering for the MMDC. One day, you suddenly want to leave the MMDC because you’re tired of it and want to join the general digital art community. Or you simply don’t feel like investing too much in 3D art (my case) and MMD already does everything you need, you’re a simple person. MMD is the best pick for you, as it’s pretty light when not loading Raycast and can do very cool things for less resources (win-win!). ![]() Mme effect ikclut red Pc#Imagine the following scenario: you have an average low-end pc (old i3, 8gb ram, intel graphics) and barely can render in Blender without almost frying an egg over your cpu. You may be wondering why the hell did I write you should care about advanced rendering in MMD after all, we’re in 2021, MMD is obsolete and nobody cares anymore, right? Wrong. I’m not an expert, so don’t quote me on anything here. DISCLAIMER: everything is from my experience. Welcome to another tutorial by yours truly! And this one will be big, so grab your water bottle and focus on my words as I lead you through areas outside of MMD (Ayreon reference, sorry!). ![]()
